The municipalities of Talavera and Llanera in the province of Nueva Ecija are the recipients of two completed infrastructure projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller Tolentino, in his reports to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan and Undersecretary for Operations in Central Luzon Roberto Bernardo, said that road improvements along Daang Maharlika and construction of flood control along the Talavera River were completed.
In the town of Talavera, motorists and travelers can now enjoy the newly-developed 1.44-kilometer section of Daang Maharlika after the paving of the road’s off-carriageway was completed in the amount of P15.32 million.
The much-needed road works greatly contribute in maintaining smooth traffic flow along the national road where public markets, shopping centers, government agencies, and other frequently visited establishments are located.
The much-needed road works, which are part of DPWH’s Network Development Program to deliver seamless travel experience, greatly contribute in maintaining smooth traffic flow along the national road where public markets, shopping centers, government agencies, and other frequently visited establishments are located.
Meanwhile, a 276-meter-long, four-meter-high concrete slope protection built on a steel sheet pile foundation was completed along the Barangay San Nicolas section of Talavera River in the town of Llanera.
The P49-million flood mitigation structure now ensures the protection of lives, properties, and livelihoods of residents during typhoon and monsoon seasons.
Both projects were implemented by the DPWH Nueva Ecija First District Engineering Office (DEO) with funding sourced from the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
